Coumadin Clinic
Coumadin is a drug which has proven benefits for many cardiac conditions — for example atrial fibrillation, left ventricular thrombus, mechanical heart valves, pulmonary emboli, and deep vein thrombosis. It is a drug which requires careful monitoring so that an appropriate degree of anticoagulation is achieved and maintained. In so doing, one maximizes the benefit and minimizes the risks associated with this drug.

We have a Coumadin Clinic where we follow patients on Coumadin (Warfarin) carefully to maintain them at appropriate levels of anticoagulation.

We provide educational materials which include Understanding Your Coumadin Therapy, Drug Interactions with Coumadin, The Role of Vitamin K and Coumadin Use, Coumadin and Surgery, and Dietary Restrictions for patients on Coumadin therapy. You should feel comfortable asking your physician any questions which you have about your treatment.

We see patients in our Coumadin Clinic on Monday through Friday at 8:00 until 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM until 3:45 PM.

We use a machine to check your INR which gives us immediate results. We can then tell you if any adjustments in your dose of Coumadin are needed. We also tell you when to return for your next blood test.
